Updated Firmware for Model 7280 allows
Faster Frequency Response Measurements
We are pleased to announce the release of version 5.0 firmware for the model 7280 DSP lock-in amplifier. This new release allows the instrument to perform much faster frequency response measurements using its internal oscillator frequency sweep function and the output buffer than were possible before. The minimum time per point has been cut from 140 ms to 1 ms per point when used in this mode. Click here to locate the free firmware update pack and here to find the updated instruction manual. Remember, only SIGNAL RECOVERY lock-in amplifiers can be upgraded using these free downloads! Model 7280 Lock-in Amplifier

New Release 3.10 of Acquire Software adds support for Boxcar Averagers
Our Acquire data acquisition software can now control our Model 4121B/4161A Boxcar Averager systems, letting you take data in both waveform recovery and static gate modes. The systems offer better sensitivity and higher trigger rates than those from other suppliers.

New support for the Model 9650A Digital Delay Generator and Model 5113 Low Noise Preamplifier further extends the capabilities of this powerful package. You can even run experiments combining both lock-in amplifiers and boxcar averager modules.

Boxcar Averager System with Acquire Software

Now you can use our Acquire Software to control our Boxcar Averager Products

  • Waveform recovery of nanosecond pulses
  • Frequency response measurements
  • Transient recorder
  • Network analysis

  • Measuring pulse power
  • Data logging vs. time
  • Remote instrument control
  • Noise vs. frequency measurements

Existing users of Acquire version 3.0 and later can upgrade free of charge simply by visiting our website and downloading the new code - click here find out more The new software is compatible with all model 4161A Dual Channel ADC and 4121B Boxcar Averager modules, and so offers a low-cost route to updating your system.

Three New Technical Notes from the SIGNAL RECOVERY Library

TN1005: What is a Boxcar Averager?
This Technical Note describes in simple terms how a Boxcar Averager works, both in static gate and waveform recovery modes, and discuss the applications for which it can be used.
TN1006: Boxcar Averager
Specification Comparison
This Note discusses some key differences between the specifications of the SIGNAL RECOVERY model 4121B Boxcar Averager and its closest competitive product, the SRS SR250, showing that in many ways our model 4121B is the better instrument.
TN1007: The Incredible Story of Dr D. P. Freeze
- 30th Anniversary Edition
This amusing tale describes how a researcher who returns to his post at a University after a long break is unaware of the capabilities of lock-in amplifiers. We are delighted to be able to re-issue this note on the thirtieth anniversary of its original publication and hope it will bring a smile to a new generation of researchers.
